Post office returned the box. It is 30lbs and they wanted $99.75 to ship it. So I will remove 10 lbs of the Leve-er-rite from the box and to get it to 20lbs. the shipping will only be $39.95. A lot of the rock looked like it was put in as filler. Sorry about the delay.

Mike, something's wrong. Isn't it in a flat rate box?

Yea I had know idea that it cost so much to ship up north. I added $5.00 to the envelope so our family members in Canada have $26.00USD to off set the cost to ship.

Wow, it's a shame that shipping has gotten so danged expensive. What a jump in price, $60 for 10 pounds. Next time, maybe one of our Canadian members who have a US PO box can participate and take it across the border both ways to share with our brothers and sisters in Canada. Jo

You guys, if you haven't sent it off yet, see if Saskrock would be willing to participate.

Glad to help. Just remember, if I remember correctly, any dirt on the outside of the box will cause customs to want to open and inspect the box, so try to use a clean box when going across the border.

I have not shipped it yet. I could not get 10lbs of rock removed without taking the good stuff out. All most but still to heavy. I will slab some of the bigger pieces and than remove more. If someone does want to do what Jo suggests let me know. PM me with the details. The box I received was in real bad shape so I got a new one so the box looks newish. Post office said that if I split it two 15lbs it would than add up to $80+ a savings but not enough. Waiting to hear from you all.

I don't think it is $60 for 10lbs as much as it is over the 20lb limit for "out of country" shipping. Mike

Either way it sure seem high priced. You'd think that these two great countries would cut some slack on this. <sigh> Mike

When it gets to my turn to receive the box, we could have the box shipped to my brother-in-law in Nanaimo, BC. He will be driving down around Xmas time so there would be a delay of 3 to 4 weeks. It would probably save a bit of money though. Any thoughts on that plan?
