Actually, I have some friends coming down from BC for Black Friday shopping. Let me check to see if they are willing to take a box of rocks up and then mail it to Alberta. If they are, you can ship the box to me. Stay tuned....

Don't get discouraged. Couple rounds ago I had to send a box to Pporky in Australia, and wait for one to come from him. At the time we had 2 traveling boxes going from the top and bottom of the list. I don't remember how long it took, but I had to wait for all 3 boxes to arrive here, Sort out things from the 2 traveling boxes to send to pork, and divide his box between the other 2 boxes before I could send anything back out. Needless to say, the lady at the P.O. hated me.

Looks like you can ship the box to me and my friend will take it up to BC and then mail it. Hopefully it will be cheaper. It will be using whatever Canada Post uses for their ground delivery option. I'll send you my address.

LOL, 30 pounds?! Thank goodness juzwuz came up with a plan to get the box to our Canuk pals so it would not cost Mike a fortune to ship it and Lloyd would have funds to ship it back to the States.

I suggest that they take more out then they put in and drop the weight down a little bit...shipping can ruin the fun.

I got the stuffed rock box today. I quickly went through the box with my kids. Then had to find a suitable box and re-pack everything. I apologize to everybody downstream, but I had to take out quite a bit of stuff to make everything fit and the box still weighs 27lbs! I tried to clean out some of the broken slabs, and small stuff. My wife is meeting our friend for dinner (and probably some shopping) so the box will get handed off, then driven across the border. I couldn't get albertarockhounds' address but Itsandbits responded so the box will go to him first. He will mail the box to Albertarockhounds. I think albertarockhounds can then mail it directly to jakesrocks using the shipping money in the envelope. I didn't take any out so there is still $26. Here's what I took out: Here's what I put in (rose quartz, India sunstone, amethyst sage:

JuzWuz, if you want to mail out the extras to the next US address, they can incorporate them back in the main box. That would be good.

Just sent my address to Justin. If I have time when the excess rocks get here, I'll slab some of them to leave more room in the box. It'll give me a chance to break in my new 10" - 303 blade. If it warms up a bit, I'll drag my big saw outside and cut some slabs of killer Pisolite to include in the box.
As with the last box, I'll be putting in more than I take out. Mostly jewelry findings and slab stands.

Got home last night and there it was!! What an amazing collection; I had to take it all out and spread it out on the table. The little lady is NOT pleased :<))) I heard from Alberta and will be sending it there Friday. I wish the weather was warmer so I could slab a couple of these. I'm going to assume the stuff with peoples name on it are who donated it Like "Mike" or "Jan" I don't see anything labelled "for" someone.

I'm glad the box made it OK. I reinforced the box as best as I could but I had to leave it open just in case border/customs guards wanted to take a look. There weren't any rocks that were labeled for specific people when I looked through it.

unfortunately, in spite of your super packaging, 5-6 of the big slabs bit the dust. Oh well, they're cab size now. nothing you can do to stop that kind of breakage though; you had it packed really well.
