We went to visit our daughter in San Jose and while we were there we went looking for our favorite strawberry vendor hoping that he would be open and have our favorite strawberries. BINGO! These berries are grown in Gilroy, about 30 miles south of San Jose. They are always this super size and super sweet! Guess what we had for Mother's Day dinner? The photo shows my wife holding a bunch of berries. Bob

I bought a half-lug at the farmers market today. Getting ready to make a batch of jam, then we eat the other two baskets of berries. They are huge, and delicious!

Gilroy? Garlic flavoured strawberries? Only jealous, buying ripe berries from a store is about as likely as winning the powerball lottery. My mother was allergic to strawberries, but every year, she would buy a whole flat, and eat damned near every one of them...............then break out in hives. Woody

I do the same thing! I'm allergic to strawberries, and while I don't eat a whole flat, I'll eat a pint... and then break out in hives.. LOL!
