Wow! Those came out looking pretty cool. I wondered if you'd still be able to see the "bubbles" after they were cut. LOL. Great Job

The box is on its way again. I was doing a fast turn around so I could go hounding with John (herchenx) BUT I have been getting more ill all day. My son has been sick for three days and I was hoping that I would dodge the bullet. The little gremlins decided that they did not want me to go hounding but I did get the box packed and to the post office. I have been using hand sanitizer all day so I hopefully would not pack any of the little buggers. Just do not pick your nose while unpacking Pat and you should be fine. lol Here is the delivery confirmation number. 03110240000217571880 This is what I took out. What I put in. In a hurry to get the box in the mail before I got too sick to go to the PO I forgot a couple of things but there is a lot of really great stuff in there and I am sure it will just get better and better. The packed box. I hope the rest of you enjoy this as much as I did. Helen, Don and Krystee put a lot of really nice things in for everyone and I thank all of them for their time and effort. The last thing that I forgot was a gift for our host but I have a box going her way soon so I will put it in that one. I will be watching for all of you have your fun too. Jim

Neat!! Hey Jim, I bought some ammonite like that, and have no idea how to cab it, so if you do, share your experience.

Made a huge mistake. Susan gave the awesome pink rodocrosite or something like that. I can not spell it but it is just awesome and THANK YOU SO MUCH SUSAN. I chose a piece with some squiggly lines because I do not find much squiggly stuff here. Jim

Dang, this is a really impressive set of materials. Very, very cool, folks! Jim, thanks for taking the time to cut up the FL agate!
One day, we're all going to have to get together and have a beer or something. It would be great to meet all of you in person.
Paul

No problem Paul. I really enjoyed the challenge and was pretty happy that it turned out as good as it did. One of my lucky days I guess. I have a one beer limit so I have to buy because I do not want to look like a cheap skate. lol Jim

Box is here! I'm taking photos and selecting what I want, then I'll stuff in my items and take photos. Quite enjoyable to look through it all. ;D I've taken photos of what is in the box, but need photos of what I take out and what I put in.

Box is on the way. PO said it normally takes 2-3 days. Confirmation number 03113260000151853528. You can also track progress with this number. Package is also insured. Photo 1 is the box I received, minus a layer of protective newspaper. Photo 2 is what I kept. Wonderful things. I especially appreciate the carving tools and material from wampidy. Photo 3 is what I donated. The jade is Clear Creek Jade from San Benito County --- home of benitoite, California's state gem. The copper is probably from industry. The moibius sterling earrings are for meta; the simulated green and sterling earrings are for catmandewe's wife. There is also a pair of lab sapphire sterling earrings, and a pair of cz sterling earrings. Photo 4/last is the box packed and almost ready to go. Amazing that it all fit. 13 lbs. Saved a bundle using the flat rate.

Pat, start with something simple like a mushroom or a shape that you like. You will probably need some other tools depending on where you want to go with the carving. Once you start using the tools you will figure out what else you need to accomplish what you want to do. I just sharpened those chisels so please be careful and do not push them toward your opposite hand. It is hard to teach from far away but if you have any questions please ask. I have no problem with helping. BTW I put in that sandpaper for finish polishing. You will need coarser grit to start with. Good luck. Jim
