That fountain is cool! On ebay a few years back, 700lbs of Opalized wood was up for grabs for $350, pick up only in Grass Valley Ca-I bought it! Turns out the wood was part of a fountain in the yard of a 150 year old house, gorgeous stuff. Now I see how it might have looked.

re., the third picture. If I did the math correctly, a three foot high, three foot wide, cylinder of petrified wood would weigh around 13,238 lbs! This was calculated using a density of 2.5 grams/cubic cm. I realize the petrified stump is not a perfect cylinder, and the density may also vary, but that's probably a good ballpark number.
Oh, and thanks for sharing! I can see where one could easily drop a few $$$ there. Some pretty nice stuff. I like his container for the geodes - an old washing machine! Jean

Man, I just went through all 3 of these - simply amazing. It is pretty overwhelming actually to see all that incredible stuff in one place.

Jean, I don't know? 6 1/2 tones seems a little heavy though. I know how dense this material is and it is heavy

Garry, you are so right! For the volume, instead of pi x radius2 I did pi x diameter2!
The actual weight is MUCH less, only 3309 lbs! That's what I get for trying to think... Jean
