Another one!! Looks like I just might go on a run of Fire Agate. Definitely been missing cutting Fire Agate. This cab measures 20mm x 16.5mm x 6mm, and weighs 14.95ct I have a hard time capturing the blues, reds and purples in Fire Agate. My cheapy camera seems to just wash-out those colors in Fire Agate. So I used a tan background in some of the photos of this cab. This color background seemed to help the camera see the other colors Anyhow here are the pics a little close-up

I haven't figured out the trick for capturing a good pic of the fire in FA...I wonder how sites like fireagate.com and fireagatestudio.com do it?
Really nice cab Christoper! I need to get back to doing some fire agate myself...just have too many projects going on lately.

The photos at fireagate.com sure do look like they have been enhanced a little.
I imagine if I had a high dollar camera and lights, instead of my $30 cheapy and sunlight, I might get better pictures. I noticed that some of my older photos that I took at my Genie under a 100 watt incandescent bulb showed all the colors well.

Wow, that one is pretty intense! Job well done Mr. C. I bet you hate selling those. I'd rather keep them in the private collection.

I get the most enjoyment out of cutting them. Selling them gives me the ability to cut more!!!!

Krystee, It seems as though we each have our own forte. The examples that you have shared of your work in Obsidian and the Plumes are AMAZING! I imagine we do well with the things that just feel natural and true...these things take little effort because they enrich us and the stones together in harmony....your comments are humbling...thank you

That's a gorgeous cab Chris!!! I haven't been messing with my fire agates lately other than throwing them into the tumbler, but now I'm wondering if cabbing is the better way to go rather than try to dig out the bubbles and having trouble polishing the grooves. I agree with Krystee, everyone has a niche they are just fantastic at, and you are definitely great at fire agates:)!!
