First off, allow me to give thanks to all that have served this great country. Tomorrow isn't just a day to grill out and have a cold one, but to reflect on those that gave SO THAT we have the freedom to enjoy a beer and a burger.
Second, I've been researching my heritage on Ancestry.com. I found the muster roll with my grandfathers name on it. I already knew he was a Torpedo Man, Third Class and I already knew he served on the USS Wasp CV-18. What I didn't know until recently is that the Wasp was an aircraft carrier. What I really don't understand is did carriers have torpedoes on board during WWII?
Well, that is all. Have a great day tomorrow and may God Bless America! ;D

My guess is he probably loaded the torpedos onto torpedo planes like the Avenger TBF.

I asked my husband and he said yes, they did have torpedoes in WWII on their carriers. They also had ones that they put on their planes. (My husband did 25 years in the Navy) Fran
