I look forward to this time every year. With the early spring,my crop is rolling in about 3 weeks earlier than normal.Love it.A few pics. This is a 5 foot wide bed I made last year.I washed out all my tumblers for a year in this bed, except for borax. My old fashioned petunias again. While I'm at it,another petunia bed Itry to incorporate pet wood in my beds A pile waiting to be used Thanks for looking. snuffy

Lookin good snuffy. Everything here in ohio is a week or 2 ahead of schedule as well. Those tomato plants are massive! In ohio we have to treat petunias as annuals therefore they never come close to the size yours have gotten.

Man, you must be feeding the pet wood the same thing as you are feeding the tomatoes. Here in northern Colorado the tomatoes are still like starters and the pet wood is way smaller

Are all of your tomatoes in pots? I have bunny problems here. They eat all the tomatoes! Peter Rabbit is my enemy!

Planting my garden today. We had frost in early may this year so probably a good thing. It's just a lil truck patch since we plan to spend a lot of time away looking for rocks and don't want to spend a lot of time taking care of it.

OMG, you are going to have tomatoes coming out your - um, bushel baskets! WTG, snuffy! Looks like if you did have a rabbit problem, you're growing enough for everybody! No rabbits here, but the mice like to nibble the tomatoes. Jean

I will have them out the gazoo for a few weeks. Our temperatures are almost at the point where the blooms no longer set fruit. Thats why we have to get them out early to have a good crop.We are blessed to have a spring and fall gardening season here.July and August are killers in between. I give away lots to older folks in the community and keep the family supplied. My sons mother in law gets a couple hundred lbs for salsa, and gives me a dozen or so pints.I will can a lot, works as medicine for my knee on the occasion it gives me problems, clears it up. Only 1 cottontail I've seen,no problems.I place a 5 gal. nursery pot with the bottom cut out and pushed into the ground around the plant when I set it out, mainly for wind protection, but would keep rabbits from getting to the plant. The old fashioned petunias are annuals here, wont be too long and the heat will get them too.But they reseed abundantly.

Wow a tomato jungle and fancy petunias! Back in California, we at the Ag Dept had smog indicator stations with petunias as they react very dramatically to air pollution. ( The leaves fry and get all burned and metallic looking) Shows you how clean the air is in Texas rural areas as the petunias seem to thrive here....Mel

Snuffy, you usually have ripe tomatoes before we even get them in the ground, then we might get lucky and get two ripe ones before the frost, rain, or blight gets them.
