I missed an awesome opportunity to hound with John (herchenx) because I thought I was getting sick. Woke up Saturday morning happy because I was not sick but bummed out because I missed the hounding trip so my son and I went hounding at the wampidite pink agate location. I found some pieces that swing over into the purple spectrum and the rock this time seemed more solid with less fractures. Maybe it has not been exposed as long as the others from lower down the hills.

This is what we found. My son wears a size 12 shoe.
I found a small piece of dendritic agate this time so I will be watching close for more of that in the future. There is a dendritic agate mine just about due east in the mountain side that has not been worked for a lot of years. I hope to make it up there soon.
We were only gone for a couple of hours so it was a great success. I am into an area now where there is a better chance of there being a source. I am working toward the mountains and up hill instead of just chasing all over the place trying to find a vein. I have my doubts that there will be a vein but you never know I might get lucky.
