Greta looking slabs. Looks like glass slag to me. Can work a lot like obsidian.

Gorgeous sonoran and I love that pet wood you got from Tony! And I had never thought of hitting the flea market for rock - great idea!

The photo of the piece you asked if it was glass looks like agate glass to me. Agate glass became popular in the late 1800s and has been produced ever since. Fenton, Akro, and Imperial glass companies were among some of the better known companies who made it. Agate glass was also used in the production of marbles. It can make some pretty cabs!

Wow nice stuff Donnie! The red gold banded sections on the first rhyolite examples looks like classic hickoryite. I wonder if the Sonora Dendritic and hickoryite come from the same deposit and co-mingle along the edges. makes for a very interesting stone.....Mel

Donnie you are really cutting some pretty stuff. I am starting to think that a 10" saw would be more than enough after seeing all the things that you have cut with yours. Based upon the the size of the slabs that you cut. Stu

Got some Dendric Opal Agate from Turkey. The outer rind seems to be of similar composition to your presumed glass. Extremely hard and brittle, yet mine is not as clear as your material.
