Thought I'd throw this one in, to show that not all Fairburns are beauties. There are lots of ugly duckling out there too. This was the second Fairburn I found many years ago, and the first to have multiple complete eyes in it.

Yeeee Haaaa !! I was just digging through the Fairburns that didn't make my display cabinet, and found a true Ghost Fairburn that I'd forgotten about. Except for certain color combinations, these are just about the rarest of the rare Fairburns.

1 of 3 that arrived today. I'll post the others when I'm finishes washing and waxing them. Here we go. Hard to see, but this one is loaded with nice tight fortification bands. You can only see a few bands around the bubbly chalcedony in the middle, but the other side has several tiny eyes. Much as I hate to cut Fairburns, I may cut this one in half to expose the treasures in the middle.

Now you need a storefront and you could open the Fairburn Agate Museum and rock store......

Bought another one today Scott. I'll post it as soon as it arrives.
Gettin too old to open a store. With the value of Fairburns, I'd have to display them behind bullet proof glass.

South Dakota agates wouldn't be complete without Tee Pee Canyon. First a slablet. A small nodule. More pics this evening. I have a 17 lb box of Tee Pee's coming today. And yes, these will be slabbed. They don't have the value of Fairburns. More TeePee's

Just thought I'd throw this in here. I wasn't happy with the built in lighting in my display cabinet. The one light in the top left the lower shelves in semi darkness, and cast a yellow glow. So I went online and ordered a set of 6 LED wireless puc lights with remote control. 2 Lights in the top, and 1 centered under each shelf. What a difference. The LED's aren't quite as bright, but give off true white light. The colors in my specimens really pop. With the remote I can turn the lights on, dim the lights, turn them off, and even put them on a 30 minute timer. First the built in light. Next with the LED's

That makes a huge difference. I've been slowly converting from bulbs and compact fluorescents to LED and love them. Your before/after pics really show up why jewelry shops and other retail stores prefer the whiter light to showcase their best pieces. I'd love to sit and look (and get fingerprints all over your glass) through your case!
