My Sister, an accomplished basket weaver and weaving artist has come to realize that her brother has learned how to shape and polish pretty rocks. Shazaam! She requested I make some large freeforms for her to work with so here is what I came up with. Most of the batch I sent her. ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2045.jpg) Some of these I don't know the names so if you recognize the material chime in. ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2008.jpg) Ocean Jasper (I think) ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2009.jpg) Ocean Jasper ? ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2018.jpg) Antelope Jasper ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2017.jpg) Biggs Jasper? ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2038.jpg) Zebra Agate (Payson AZ) ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2039.jpg) Tumbled Fire Agate Matrix ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2041.jpg) Petrified Wood ![](http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/karock50/Susan2/susan2027.jpg) You can see samples of her work here: plus.google.com/photos/104314116565289854331/albums/5751682530252627617?banner=pwa&authkey=CKXvjJXUhvK28QEThanks for looking and helping with ID's Karock

Oh wow, lucky you. We'd love to see what she does with these so please post pics for us. I think your first OJ is Rainforest. I think your second OJ is Birdseye Rhyolite. I think your Biggs is Owyhee. If I have these wrong, please somebody correct me. These are all very beautiful. Jo

Jo I agree with Jo on her assessments and your title of pet wood looks correct to me too. Scott

Her work looks interesting -- and I think you might be giving her a nice upgrade to her typical rocks! That's great. I like how the ones you gave her are pretty natural looking still, fits with her work.

First one looks like the Kalidescope Jasper that Dale Rhodes was selling. I have some of it and it looks really similar. I agree with Jo on the others. My humble opinions.

First one does look like it could be Kaleidoscope Jasper. Second one is Rainforest Jasper from Australia. Third one looks like Bird's-eye Rhyolite. Fourth one is Owyhee Picture Jasper. Fifth one looks like it too may be a jasper from the Owhyee area or could be Polychrome Jasper from Madagascar. Sixth one, I'm not sure - maybe banded onyx. Seventh is Fire Agate. Eight is petrified wood.
