We were lucky enough to have a friend donate a Case Vibrating Tumbler to us to use until we are able to buy a Thumbler. It is principally designed for use to clean cartridges but can also be used with rocks. The problem is that no instructions for the rocks come with it such as what types of grit, how long to tumble, etc.
Does anyone have any experience with this tumbler with rocks and can pass along the instructions? The manuals online don't discuss using this tumbler for rocks.

If it was meant for cleaning cartridges but it "can" tumble rocks, you'll be lucky if it finishes an entire load before it gives out. That's why. Don't try it if the friend expects to get the tumbler back. My tiny two cents worth of experience only but I doubt I'm the only person who ever made this mistake.

He's not expecting it back, he just knew I was going to get a vibrating tumbler when I return home in Sep and gave me this one in the interim to play around with. If it does one load and gives up the ghost, that's one more than I could do before I got it, so I'm grateful for his generousity.
In the meantime, I still need instructions on how to use it. Should I just follow the same procedures for this as I would for, as an example, a Thumler?

I'm hesitant to give any since I killed my tumbler. I followed the "standard" instructions that used to be listed on this site for vibes. I'll give you a bump and somebody with more knowledge will (I hope) find your question!

If it will handle rocks follow Randy's instructions or other standard vibe instructions. Remember they run damp, not wet. Typically you use a lot less grit (10 lb Gy-Roc uses one tablespoon). Skip the coarse grit and start with 220, 600, and then polish (or mixed grades in same approximate range). Load hopper to the top too. Use lots of filler (ceramics at 30% of load, more for flats).
