Well after our weekend camping in Rocky Mountain National Park, we came home, cleaned out the camper, I worked a day and then we hit the road again.
The last time we did this trip was 3 years ago and we towed a popup camper the whole way across the country.
This time we took the minivan and "camped" in hotels.
First day we left Fort Collins and made it all the way to Omaha.
Second day we made it to the Chicago area and stayed the night in Kenosha, WI.
We saw some friends in Kenosha. We had breakfast at Franks Diner (historic, quirky fun place)
I took the kids pic in the parking lot with our friend's kids
went to the Kenosha Public Museum. There was a nice collection of arrowheads, spear heads, tools etc.
From there we drove a LONG day through, IL, IN and Ohio. We stopped late at night in Erie, PA
The next day we headed into upstate NY and got to drive through some beautiful country including the Catskill Mountains
we stopped to let the kids run, the green is great out east:
It rained most of the day, this is crossing into Connecticut
We finally made it into Rhode Island late on the fourth day.
we stayed up late catching up with my brother and sister in law.
The next morning, we hit the beach. This is all our kids (my kids and my brother's)

This was this morning not long after dawn, near Narragansett; hiked a little trail:
and enjoyed the view:
It is supposed to rain and storm all day today so I'm not sure what we'll end up doing, but we are having fun!
