Wow... Wow. What a beautiful (and intimidating for us not learned in snakes) creature. Pic of his face if you have time?

I'll get some good pics of her tomorrow in the daylight, she's sleeping in her enclosure now. I have 7 snakes in the house right now, most I've had in a couple years. We love all of them!

Wow what a strongly marked and beautiful snake! Gotta say pythons are among the prettiest snakes but that growth rate is the main drawback. The larger species tend to outgrow the cage pretty quick *S*. I've never had a python. Had a nice Columbian Red Tail Boa for years until he too grew way to big and got kind of aggressive too....Mel

She's a beauty Randy. About the same size as the largest of 2 reticulated pythons I once had.

The growth rate is the main reason that I didn't take her in myself. I simply don't have the room for a proper sized enclosure to ensure her comfort. I used to have a couple of Columbian boas too but gave them to another friend because their enclosure took up half of what used to be the dining room and we needed to area to set up an office. My longest snake now is the Savu python, full grown now at 6ft 4in, perfect size!

Yup, certain breeds do get big. I was stationed in Scotland when I had mine. Customs wouldn't give me clearance to import them to the U.S., so they were donated to the London Zoo. I'd love to see how big they are now. I remember seeing a pic in a British newspaper of a reticulated that had outgrown its enclosure at the zoo. They had tranquilized it and tied it to a 20' ladder to carry it to a new enclosure. There were 3 people ahead of the ladder holding the head and front part of the snake, and 3 behind holding the tail. And a pretty good sized crew carrying the ladder with the bulk of the snake.

Yeah, retics are the biggest of the biggest, and not too forgiving if they don't get handled regularly. I have scares from an 11 foot retic that thought my hand was dinner. ;D

The vipers to me are the most beautiful but they are a little tough to get close to. lol
Another one that is going to out grow her enclosure soon is your daughter and then you will be really sad unless she makes her new enclosure close to home. But then you will have grand kids and that is the best thing in the world. She certainly looks right at home with the snake so I would imagine that she has been handling them since she was old enough to not pull their tails.
Thanks for sharing Jim

Jim, she's 23..... we got rid of her once but she came back. ;D I've got pics of her handling boas when she was 5. Right now she has an albino-lavender kingsnake, it's cool!

Randy, how old is the snake and how long does it take them to reach full size? Your daughter is beautiful!

The snake is a couple years old, these never stop growing (I think). It'll more than double in size in just a few years, I can't remember how long it takes for them to reach 20 feet long. Chester reached 18 feet in about 6 years.

We had black candles just inside the door. When I opened the door to these uninvited people, George, my biggest snake would be wrapped around me. Sure fire way to get rid of them.

My buddy picked her up this evening about an hour ago, so she's at her new home now. She'll be well cared for.
