This is a project that is currently still in progress. It is a tree with a gnome door using wire and polymer clay. Covering the wire armature. All covered and adding the detail. All baked. Used a flash to try to show more detail. Now for the leaves. I used Green Tree Agate chips. At this point, the door is on and I added some mushrooms and a log. I ran out of chips so this project is on hold for a bit. My son is providing the base. There are some tumbled stones amongst the roots. I'll post pics as soon as it is complete. Thanks for looking. JO

Wow Jo, I'm usually not so impressed with the clay works but you really have a knack for making it super cool - that is outstanding!
I'd like a slice of that teeny pie please
I've got a couple of slabs of tree agate that I don't have a use for - one has too much green and the other is full of druzy tunnels. You're welcome to them if you like.
Anyway, cool!

Thanks you guys. Well, the chips came in and I let them fall where they may as I worked to cover the rest of the tree. I ended up using 8 strands of chips. A closeup of the birds nests. Working on giving it a rounded top. Then trying it out on the base provided by my son, Tom. It was perfect. Now to glue it down and secure it somehow. I chose to screw some wire into the base... ...and then turning the wire into a rose quartz chip flowering vine. Then I finished creating the forest floor to at last attain a completed piece. That's it. Thanks for looking. Jo

Thanks Helen. Frank, that is very generous of you, but although I've used chips that I tumbled myself in wire trees, I chose to use purchased chip beads for this one. It ended up being quite top heavy and I should have made the trunk more substantial, as I ended up with a few cracks. Although I fixed them, this one won't be sold for that reason. Not sure if I'll be doing another one soon... I've got another wood, clay and tumbled stone challenge/project in mind I want to try first.
