Montana has the most fires burning of all the states, yet there was no fireworks ban. All the other states out west shut it down. Our Gov. left it to the counties, some shut down the stands and even cancelled the city shows, but our county let them be used. We have a little place out of town, not too far from the Pony fire. I had to go out and set up irrigation pipes to get it wet.
We spent the night watering, feasting and drinking wine until 3 am. It was quite a show all around us. I can't believe the size of fireworks that people can buy now, Huge bursts way up in the sky such as one used to see only in the big shows. Out of state folks have moved in buying up McRanches, and they have more money than brains. . . There were 8 blazes caused by fireworks the night of the 4th, but we had no fires out there, but all the watering was well timed anyway considering how the heat and especially the winds we got while it was so hot dried everything out so bad. The best part was the sunset which was enhanced by the smoke. Thought some might enjoy. . . Bill

rocknrob: That was one heck of a windstorm that thankfully missed me. I guess Seatac almost hit 60mph gusts. I bet those were some fun landings
