Any knife collectors on the board ? After my wife's aunt passed away, this was found in a junk drawer. It's a G.Schrade Presto knife. A double bladed switch blade with blade locks for both blades. It measures 7" with both blades open, and 3-3/8" closed. Just wondering if anyone knew the approximate age of this knife, and an estimated value. Both blades are still sharp, and both still open with the springs, tho the spring on the smaller blade is weak.

Wow, I'm kind of a knife nut but have never seen that one. I don't collect switch blades but have seen quite a few vintage models at knife shows. Only Schrade Prestos I've seen were single blade models that were the stiletto type and varied wildly in price from about $40 to maybe $200. There's probably a knife pricing guide out the somewhere online if you don't want to buy one. Not legal to possess in some areas but were it me, I'd keep it as a keepsake and not sell it just because it's very cool....Mel

This looks like the one you have Don.............Hope this helps..
Schrade Cut Co model #7504 ¾ with Mottled Green large double. The knife measures 3 ¾” closed and 7 7/8” open and was made between 1916 and 1946 in Walden, NY. It has brass liners and nickel silver buttons & safeties. The celluloid handles are in excellent condition with only light marks from handling. The blades are both 96%, or better and shiny. The knife functions well with blades seating well, good snap and good lockup with very little movement. EX $350

Checked the laws about switchblades. They're against federal law, but legal in S.D. Just can't transport it across state lines. Oops !! I carried it in my pocket from Cal. to S.D. lol
