Today went somewhat smoother than yesterday after the 4 hour trip to Home Depot, 3 of which were spent fighting traffic. Luckily, Home Depot is in the same shopping center as Staples so I was able to get everything I needed for organizational help at these two locations without having to battle "The Big W" which the rest of the planet knows as WalMart. Also, and this is a huge plus, as I now have everything I could possibly need for the workroom, I'm not going shopping again until after Labor Day unless it's in NJ. So, organizational stuff for this day.... The biggest project for me because Tom is in NJ doing family stuff, was installing the sliding wire baskets thingies in the big cabinet. There were 2 units with a total of 22 screws and a power drill but they came out well and work beautifully. Next, moving the Lortone over Finding wire wrapping tools... Oh...this is really cool and I read about it here. I did the expanding folder thing for templates and wire. I'm going to need more cases for them and probably more folders but boy does that clean a couple of messes up quick! I had to move the photo center to the wrapping side because the Lortone ate more room than I had planned but I think I can deal with it. Anyway, this is the room at this point...still a work in progress but getting there... And tonight's view, a family favorite, Dragon Clouds! Cathy

A couple of things should be mentioned here. First of all your drink glass is too close to the edge and you might knock it off AND the extension cord and drill are a tripping hazard for your grand child. Other than that the place looks about perfect. Great job. I wish that I had that much room and organizational skills. My theory is "pile it up here". Jim

Great job, Cathy!! It's really shaping up. I love how your work space is in front of the window and that great view. Very cool!

LOL! Yeah, Jim, but I have a good supply of masks in the drawer that I actually use. Was kinda toying with the idea of leaving the drill and cord in the middle of the floor as an interactive obje de arte for the 2.5 year old grandson. Plugged in, that thing would be a blast for him! LOL! Oh...and the drinking glass is a non-negotiable. LOL! (At least the surface it's on is water proof!)
Tela, the view from those windows is of the roof over the kitchen and dining room but it is like a tree house up there and the light is relatively good in the room. It's a good place to work and we're trying to get it set up so that Tom can be up there too when he wants. If we can get stuff set up so that the hobby stuff is somewhat confined from the rest of the house, we are going to be doing good. The Lot-O is in the basement and the large saw will be too, but everything else I want upstairs. Still a lot of work, but it's getting there!
Don't know if I'm going to be posting photos tonight but will see. The next big change will be later in the week when the equipment arrives.
Cathy

I'll second the comment on your photos of the surrounding landscape. Beautiful area you live in. Great job on the cabinets and work room! Paul

What a great workshop!!! Your view is mesmerizing. Never heard of dragon clouds before, but I can sure see the dragon. I love watching deconstructing and construction progress. Thanks for posting!

If I can get a few evenings in this week, quite possibly this coming weekend but I'm thinking the real deal will probably be next weekend.
