New forum user from Seattle
Hello Andy321 board, My name is Matt and I joined the group roughly 2 months ago. I’m finally getting to introducing myself.
I’m am native to Seattle and spent the best of time outdoors, camping, panning and hiking. Now 33 life is busy now but still make it out to our amazing forests whenever I get a chance.
I have a spiritual side to me and find that I am most grounded outdoors. I have always tried to bring the outdoors into my home and started collecting minerals a while back with no knowledge of what they were. In early 2012, I picked up a cheap plastic tumbler kit and rolled with it. I was hooked! Since then I have picked up Lortone vintage 3 (12lb) Barrel similar to C300-12 but allows 2 8lb or 2 6lb on braces to roll with 12’s. I also picked up 3 3# barrel for polish stages and a Lortone Arbor.
Its been a learning curve but am very grateful that I have found this board for help and reference.
Currently I am tumbling agate and clear quartz and have been grinding away on a couple jewelry pieces that a family member wants for making jewelry. I have also been asked by a couple local metaphysical shops to create larger polished Chakra Kits for their shop specifically Red Jasper, Peach Aventurine, Orange Aventurine, or Orange Quartz, Golden Quartz or Yellow Aventurine, Green Aventurine, Lapis Lazuli, Blue Aventurine or Sodalite, & Amethyst.
I see a lot of member selling rough on the board and have been searching to purchase items above and support members.
Looking forward to members knowledge and hope to share my at some point,
Cheers, Matt

Welcome Matt. I have a pretty good pile of aventurine (mostly green), quartz in mostly yellow and green plus a little milky. Not sure of it's quality but some of it is pretty nice. I think the yellow is just a little bit too cloudy to be called citrine but I am not sure. I have completely quit working quartz of any kind because I am not good at polishing it and nephrite/jade has become my stone of preference. I do some trades but only for the nephrite/jade. My rocks go pretty cheap because I have way too much. lol
I have a lot of red jasper but not sure how much. I collected a lot of it before I knew what I was doing and the biggest share of it is fractured pretty bad.
I am way behind on doing pics but I will try to get some taken so you have an idea of what I have. Jim

Thanks Everyone for all your warm welcomes. I understand on any forum a member/user needs a bit of longevity and posts to show validity but want to offer to Andy321 members what I can. Being new to tumbling and lapidary work I don't have much to offer in experience. However, I work just minutes away from Lortone Manufacture and a bit further from Thumler's Manufacture. Thumler's is a closed to public facility while Lortone is public (loosely) and is amazing on the phone and in person. Lortone offers pickup of their product at their dealer pricing www.lortone.com/. Lortone understands that there are fewer and fewer brick and mortar stores that work with rough and lapidary and they may even ship directly from their warehouse. I don't want to break any unread forum rules by stating this, but I would like to offer members on forum purchase, pickup and shipment to those who don't have a local dealer for Lortone equipment and parts ect. I would need to look into shipping costs of larger items and flat rate boxes are the cheapest, but I would be happy to help. Unfortunately I am unable to offer to ship outside the US, do to time constraints on my part. Just PM me and I will get a quote/shipping cost for you.

@wampidy/Jim Thank you so much for offering on extra stones you have. Unfortunately I don't have any Nephrite/Jade but that is on our radar next time we go up to the cabin for a weekend. Our cabin is on the Stillaguamish cash-and-treasures-wiki.travelchannel.com/page/Jade. Jade, Garnets and Gold are riddled throughout the areas. On the North Fork of the Stilly is where Jade can be found the most. The North Fork is about 30 mins from the cabin and plan to go up within the next two months. If I'm able to get a good amount of Jade or Nephrite you will be the first one to PM. I have a lot of projects going on including the Charka stones so I would love to hunt and keep a piece or two and let go of the rest. I would love to see what you have for Aventurine and Citrine. I don't mind cloudy yellow for Citrine as long as its more milk orange color like this www.greenearthstones.com/citrine-tumbled-stones/ versus C Grade. I picked up quit a bit of jasper and am currently charging them right now. I may need more though at some point. The biggest issue for me is keeping the costs down on this project. Its starting to be more for love sharing with others an outcome of craft over making a couple bucks. They are looking for larger flatter stones to use in the kits. The biggest complaint for them is tumbled stones roll when there is any body movements. So i have been doing a little shaping before hand and sizing the rough so that they are the golf ball size or larger with a bottom flattened shape when polished. Well, now I'm rambling. When you have pics available PM me. I'd love to be the first to see what you have and make a purchase. Who knows by then I may have a bunch of Jasper too Cheers, Matt and not

You sound like a keeper on here so I will make you a better deal. One that I have done for several people on here because people on here have done for me also. I will send a sfrb of some smaller pieces if you will pay the postage. I will not high grade on the samples then sell lower grade stuff. Everything I have is about the same grade and same price which is close to free because I am just trying to break even and not looking to make a lot of money here.
PM your address and I will get a box sent in the next couple of days if you are interested. If it is unusable you do not have to pay the shipping. Jim
