I came across a saw listed on craigslist as a 17" lapidary saw but figure its probably a 16 or 18. The seller does not know the make or model. can anyone here tell what it is and a possible value ? Thanks Chuck ![](http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x462/drummondislandrocks/saw%20for%20sale/2012-07-16_19-33-00_802-r.jpg) ![](http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x462/drummondislandrocks/saw%20for%20sale/2012-07-16_19-33-13_2921-r.jpg) ![](http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x462/drummondislandrocks/saw%20for%20sale/2012-07-16_19-33-32_269-r.jpg)

I saw that posted too and thought it was intriguing. I couldn't find any 17" lapidary saw on google. If it is a 17" saw, I am sure somebody here as seen it. Scott

I looked and found some very similar covers on old Beacon Star saws. The 17" throws me though. I'm still looking. Scott

So, apparently Beacon Star. Seller apparently didn't remove the table to measure the blade. Maybe he is guessing by what he sees. There have never been 17" blades to my knowledge.

Some Beacon Stars shipped with blue blades if that helps...I have no idea if that is the original blade...just like looking for clues and solving mysteries. Scott

If this is listed under $600 I would not dicker much. Someone else will buy it. I would be tempted.

for size it looks more like a 10 or 12" - might possibly be a 14---- easiest way would be to email him and ask to measure across the blade --- if you look at the pic with the cord in it and guess that the cord is @ 3/8's " then the saw can't be to big ---- few years back I had one like that ( with the square drain holes and the same green ) but don't remember what the brand was. mine was a 12" with that tall lid -------
