A/R = as required per good machine shop practices. Coarse or fine threads.... hmmmm I guess I'll have to go measure the threads per inch. Although I'm pretty sure it's coarse.... somewhere around 10 or 12 per inch? I'll be able to measure them on Tuesday AM when I go to the senior center lapidary session. Thanks!

standard coarse is 8 per inch....standard fine is 12 per inch....just throw a scale over the top of the threads and measure how many crests of the threads cover an inch...i will take it from there...nice attempt at the sketch...it works for me ;D...kev.

If you are going to do that for $12 I am going to have to find some machine work that needs to be done. That is a great price and more than reasonable. Jim

I'll have to get a drawing up for you too. Need an adapter for a vertical arbor. The arbor is 5/8" right hand NF, and the adapter end needs to be 1" NPT. I'll get the overall dimensions in the morning. Gonna use an old flat lap arbor to build an old school, single cup sphere machine.

Kev..... Major change.... The folks at the senior center gave me the wrong info. I looked at the two pieces that need to be joined, and the female threads need to be male threads... Will work up a new sketch shortly. Should make the job even easier!
Thanks! Phil

OK. Measured the threads this AM. there are 14 per inch. Also called the manuf (covington) and asked them.. they confirmed 1" x 14 .
Let me know how you want to proceed. Need the $$ up front?
Thanks! Phil

Sorry Kev, got sidetracked for a few days. The piece I'll need will have 5/8" NF Right hand internal threads to 1-1/4" deep. Preferably threaded with a bottoming tap. The opposite end will need 1" NPT for about an inch of shaft length. Also would like to have flats milled onn the unthreaded outer portion of the shaft, so I can put a wrench on it for removal. Just a standard piece of round stock without any other fancy cuts will be just fine. Overall length isn't critical. just whatever you have laying around the shop. Let me know the price + shipping, and how you want to be paid.

Oops, my bad. That's 1/2" NF on the internal threads. The pulley end of my vertical arbor is 5/8".

Looks good Kev. But now I feel like I owe you. Hate to think what a local machine shop would have charged me. Thanks Much. Now I can go ahead with my "Old school" sphere machine. I've been wanting to show the folks on here how they made spheres way back when I was a rock pup.

Phil, Dons adaptor is 1" pipe thread and yours is 1" standard (bolt) thread, that's why the difference.
