Got a parcel about ten days ago from the US and held back until today opening it as I was afraid that I would get distracted from the carving-projects.
Got a super supplier, who has allowed me to put this parcel together over a period of about 6 months, so its chuck full with goodies. Far to many to list them all here. It was even further delayed by a couple of weeks, thanks to a daylight robbery just before it was supposed to be posted. Fortunately the robber was stupid enough to clean out my suppliers van, right in front of a hardware store, in full view of 3 cameras. So after holding it in evidence for another 3 weeks, it finally got posted.
So here are a few examples that I'm exited about:
First two slabs that I shall use within the week to start two new projects. Jade (don't remember from where and opalized wood)
some more wood
some repeat moss (had this material from this supplier before, the one with white druzy is a sister-slab of a cab with heavy druzy I posted earlier this year)
Montana galore sample (got 37 slabs in the box)
He also put about 15 heel-cuts as extras for carving
And then come the stars of the box:
The first ones; I dont remember any more what they are called and the supplier has not yet gotten back to me. So will have to add names as I get them. Any help for ID would be highly welcome.
Mexican, Brown Plume agate,
Psuedomorph after aragonite agate from southwest texas
Love those two slabs: absolute chaos and super strong color
lace agate also Mexico, manganese coloring agent
4 No idea if this is agate or Jasper only seem to remember something with "Montezuma"(?)
Just got this on FB:
Those are from the Mexican side of rio grande from an area about 60 miles south of big bend. Mexican nodule agates. So no Montezuma! Sorry.
I was bid to hell with this one; Turkey Needle Agate (I eventually won the one in the middle for US$33). So the supplier decided to send my 4 sister-slabs from that stone. Absolutely adore the possibilities.
Indian Green Moss Agate, had this material before, but this time I love that it is absolutely solid and the spacing between moss and agate is highly attractive. Plus it seems at parts to have orangy agate mixed in and most of all, the bright green nearly seems to border on fluorescing.
He added about a pound of green and blue tiger-eye (mostly end-cuts but still and numerous diverse mosses. In this box alone is enough material to last me the year. LOL
Thanks for looking, and as said above, any help for missing ID is highly appreciated,.....
Best regards, Kurt
