I am considering buying this saw to be used mainly for reducing larger rocks to tumble sized for my qt12 and qt66 tumblers.I would like to use only water and will be using outside....i currently use a 7" tile saw but want more cutting depth.....i would like your experience and guidance to point me in the best direction.........everything you recommend will be greatly appreciated, thanks

You do realize that the max size you can cut on a 10 inch saw is approx 4.5 inches thick? You'd only be gaining an inch or so from your 7 inch.

yes phil, i realized this but for what i have to cut, this will be enough. i would get a bigger saw,but i want to stay with water and all the bigger saws specify that you must use oil.....thanks,rudy

for making tumble rock, cutting a notch with the 7" and then using a chisel is very useful. I do not think you gain a lot from the 10" - unless you want to make small slabs and trim out shapes for tumbling. I block most of my larger rock using a 7" diamond blade on an angle grinder and then the chisel.
