The day of rest yesterday did me well! I made it through most of the day today. I did leave an hour early, more because I needed to use up the full sick day of hours I took this week to shorten the days at work to make it through the week. Actually a very good idea as tonight when I got home, while tired, I still had an energy level... which was a really good thing because there were two boxes from John at jsgems on my rocker!
All of the equipment for this has been in the planning stage since I began the hobby with the Lortone. To see it actually starting to happen is really incredible! So the big two additions for today, while huge for me, may not seem like much to others.
The first is the Gryphon. I've wanted to do grooving since I first came onto the board and saw some of Adrian's work. His grooving machine really intimidated me, so I began looking and asking around. I thought about using Dad's dremmel, but really didn't feel that was a good solution for me. I wanted a unit that I could use specifically for grooving, could store easily, was easy to use and had an easy water solution as the water in my work room is from jugs.
So here it is, the Gryphon Studio...just right for the empty wire basket storabe bin! :-)
The next piece of equipment I actually had been thinking about for a while, but my friend dbryans convinced me it would be the best solution for me. Again from John, this is his mini-drill press. Very simple to assemble, adjustable speed, very solid and heavy But not permanently affixed to the counter so it too can be stored!
No outside pictures tonight as I was deep into the process of assembly tonight!
