So I realize this isn't all that uncommon or unique, but I have myself a beautiful little niece named Cheyenne and so i made her this wire written piece with her name. I'm pretty sure they'll just hang it on a wall or hide it away until she's old enough to have it but I like what little wire writing I've done, so here it is. What do you think? Krista

Nice writing! Hmmm.. wonder if my grandaughter would like one? She has 3 letters in her name, so it would be much easier.

Thanks everyone! Diane, isn't that how you learned cursive? It's how I did See? Krista nope the "n" and "m" I learned had the first hump closed like the lower case "h" Learned something new with this I went to a catholic grade school with nuns as teachers, they patrolled the isles between the desks with either a thimble or ruler to thump you on the head with the thimble or wack you on the hand with the ruler if you did ANYTHING out of order I guess they taught their own form of writing

Hmm interesting. I went to a public school, but I remember having to do these sheets over and over again so we wouldn't forget how to write in cursive. I always thought my cursive writing was prettier than my print, so I just stuck with it Thank you everyone for the compliments Krista

Hmmm.... FrogandBear- I didn't go to Catholic school, I went to public school and that is how I was taught, too. I don't know how old you are, but I think it is a time/generational thing. When the grandkids were young, I was teaching them to write and found out that there is a whole new way of writing now that is a cross between printing and cursive. It's supposed to make the transition easier.
Also, at my age... I was taught as a youngster to say "an" before a word that started with a vowel (and a few others) but, we in America, aren't supposed to do that anymore. I still do. There are few new tricks I am willing to learn. This isn't one of them.

LOL! I learned cursive at a Catholic school with nuns who wacked fingers with a ruler too! Sister Katherine never wacked me for that (despite my letters being not perfect), she had a preference for wacking the boys. Unfortunately, my cursive never got that great despite all that 'help'.
I LOVE the idea! I LOVE the execution, and the only thing about the N that makes it look like a M instead of an N is the depth of the 2nd line on each, because it doesn't drop to the level of the base of letters. My first read on it was Cheyemm also. HOWEVER, anyone who knows her name is going to realize that it's stylized, and what a beautiful style!! Your niece is going to love it:).

Your wire writing is really neat! I have a thought
I see lots of metal open hearts I always raz folks about that telling them ya need a rock'n heart
none of this as anything to do with your pretty metal heart but have you consider putting a stone (or even glass) backing behind it? maybe the color of her birthstone ? Not wrapped particularly just a stone backing with wires crisscrossing the back of the stone to hold in place
with a metal outline as it hangs the heart will always shine
I'm glad I didn't have to write all that in cursive it may not be understandable even in Arial font ;D
