I tried to come up with something nice for my sister's birthday. She is July so that is ruby. I had gotten a slab of ruby in zoisite from Maryann a while back so I decided to try that. It is a beautiful material and my picture does not do it justice! The material kept wanting to do it's own thing so the ovals are not quite oval as I would like them. I decided it was perfect for my sister because she is a little stubborn as well so it is a good match. I didn't get a picture of the finished set but here are the cabs, what you can see of them with the glare... ![](http://i513.photobucket.com/albums/t337/franely/RTH/Picture063.jpg) She said she loves them so I am happy. Beautiful!!! My grandaughter is July too, maybe one day I will try something like this but I need a lot more practice to get this kind of finish.

That's a finish I can only dream off, wow. how did you get them all off in the same direction? :<)) I don't think they are showing in the mounts and if they do she probably think that's your signature. Maybe it is!

Beautiful stone, great shine and if you have to look as hard as I did to find the "off" then it really isn't noticable. Great job and wonderful gift!

That material is a bit tough to cab but you did a great job. That's a terrific shine.
