Went to the local rock club yesterday and bought some really neat slabs, but not sure what these particular ones are. The seller said that he got some rocks from a collector who collected them years and years ago, and he finally got around to cutting them. He wasn't sure what they are either. Would appreciate some ID ideas:).
#1 - really vivid orange plumes in agate, no cracks anywhere, very solid material:
#2 - really vivid RED plumes in BLUE agate, with orange curliques
While it may seem a bit like the above slab, it's not... this is RED and the only orange is in the little curlique border around the blue/red middle. Material seems a little bit softer too (I'm just partial to these colors, so I have a variety in these color families).
Pattern Closeup:
#3 - the yellow looks like quartz 'fans' cut, it's pretty hard material too, but the white part looks almost like spencer opal (which is only 5.5 MOH or so):
#4 - I THINK this is crazy lace? It's got a lot of vivid powder blue, and I haven't seen much blue in crazy lace?
#5 - Is this agua nuevo?? The pink in the orbitals are speckled:
#6 - Zebra agate or something else??
These I have cabbed, but I don't know what they are either:
#7 - this has shining teeny bits of METAL in it. The veins are silver metal, and the little shiny spot on right and near center is goldish metal:
#8 - I got this from Christopher1234 a few months back, but don't know what it is... it's very pink and very brecciated (those cracks are nature-filled, this is just out of the tumbler):
#9 - last but not least, this yellow stuff is fairly soft and easy to cut, but I would not say a 3 soft. It came out of the tumbler like this... looks like lemon candy - is it some kind of common opal or calcite?
