Greetings Ladies & Gents, on 29 Sep i ordered a replacement Lortone QT motor from RockShed,
on 20 Oct i received a ransom note dated 08 Oct from Parcel Farce via snail mail
demanding £12.07 ($19.34) Tax and their ransom fee of £8 ($12.82) to be paid
before even attempting delivery.
My email address is listed on the package, i paid via their website with a receipt via email
& the package was delivered on 22 Oct, however since i was ill at the time i did not open
the package until 01 Nov and tested the motor.
On 03 Nov i removed the belt, motor-pulley & motor from QT 12/66 base and took the videos below,
i have now found out that it was most likely the motor all along that was creating excessive
noise, however sending the motor back to the USA will cost me an additional £45 ($72.10)
in postage alone simply because it weighs in excess of 2kg (4.4lb),
i am undecided whether to return it to RockShed or Lortone direct or write it off.
I am not ruling out the drive shaft with pulley space cut short as the drive pulley still waggle's
like a "S" as there is no shaft to support the pulley fully, this is a stability issue & can lead to
premature failure of the bearings, belt, drive shaft, drive pulley & the motor!
I also removed the drive pulley & cir-clip, then reassembled completely as
[The Daniel that's in MN] suggested in Reply #19, upon testing the drive shaft just slid about
14mm (0.551") out the other side within a second & the pulley started grating against the
QT 12/66 base, no matter which direction the set-screw was facing, so i removed the drive pulley
& reinserted the cir-clip, then reassembled it completely again.

Sorry to hear that you too have gotten the faulty drive shaft too, there must be thousands of
the faulty QT 12/66 drive shafts in circulation & my QT 12/66 was bought in December
last year, you should demand a full sized drive shaft directly from Lortone.
