The sunrise and red lace are sweet! The OJ and the other orbicular piece is cool too. Scott

There was no other piece of SunRise with the toothy band. I was not even in the market, but it spoke my name. I have good feeling about the blocks of Lizard Stone, and the greenish one called Fire Mountian, a new rainforest-like rhyolite from China. Here is a wet shot:

Wow! I really like the Sonoran sunrise. I need to figure out how to stabilize so I can play with that kind of stuff. The ocean jasper looks great too!

That's some mighty fine lookin' stuff, Daniel! The OJ, crocodile jasper (kambaba) and Sonoran sunrise are sweet! What is the name of the rock prominently pictured in the 13th (or 7th from the last) photo? Is that the Lizard stone? Jean

Yes Jean. The pieces I had prior are darker, with less jitter in the wavy pattern. I think the recent spate of cutting green rock, and the new-to-me features of this pattern, is what drew my eye. (It was also prices at only about $4/lb) I am calling the brown/mauve bits "ruin" - it looks like some sort of layer was busted up and flipped about before it was re-cemented in the lighter stone. Here is one of the pieces I already had in my rockpile:

Thanks, Daniel! I think I have something like that laying around here that came from an an old rock collector's estate sale. It's about the same color, kind of an olive green/grey, but not so stripey, and it has a few eyes, too, if I recall. Gonna have to dig it out and take a look. Do you know where it is found? Jean

Aha, well that makes sense! The gentleman lived in San Diego, and in his lifetime, he traveled around quite a bit. In the southwest, at the very least. I found the rock in question, I'll try to get a pic posted, see what you think.
Forgot to mention, that Fire Mountain is cool! Jean
