I wrapped these {natural shaped} stones while on a 3 hours car trip. I wish I'd of had a beginners tutorial to look at rather than just guessing at what to do ;D they are in order of first to last starting from the left, bit hard to photograph as they aren't cabs and kept rolling all over the place haha Attachments:

nice work for just jumping into it! There is a tutorial from Randy pinned to the top of the Wire Wrapping thread that can be very helpful.

First time, riding in a car AND wrapping some odd shaped stone I would say you did damn good. The only thing that I would suggest and it may not be possible with those rocks is to not put so much wire in front of the stone because the stone is the focal point. Just my opinion and you can tell me to go to hell if you want. lol I am not the best judge of style. Jim

I could not do that in a chair much less in a car. Talk about Ver-de-go I would be sick.

Very impressive! Really! I'd say you did an awesome job- not only for your first, but for doing it in your lap and in a moving car. Man, talk about handicap! Can't wait to see what you do in a week on solid ground. ;D

Those look cool! Naturally shaped stones are really challenging, you'd do awesome with cabochons!!

I would loooove to make things with cabs I'v made from local stone but it would cost alot to buy the equipment {being in the uk its near impossible to get second hand stuff } also I'm in a studio apartment so my neighbours wouldn't be happy haha

Fossiler, see if there are any local rock clubs in your area. Often clubs have lapidary shops that you can learn and work in. It's a great way to learn without having to invest in or deal with the equipment.
I love your wraps! They just project a feeling of "fun" that is irresistible and really make me smile... every one of them! I love the open, springy designs! Well done and I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Cathy thank you very much ;D i'm glad you like them. I wish there were clubs here! England isn't really as (craft) hobby driven as America, over here people play sports & eat chips for fun;D there are only about rock/gem 5 clubs in England from what i can tell. and none are near me

And the perfect solution is (drum roll) move to the good ol USA. There is a rock nut on every corner. Just tell the immigration service that your great grand parents forgot to move here so you are doing it for them. Piece of cake.
Second choice is to buy a small quiet machine like the one that Jo carries all over the country. If she uses it in a campground (absolutely no noise louder than a very quiet generator) then you should have no problem with your neighbors. Plus, if you get them involved and give them stuff they will not mind so much. Everyone loves art especially if they get it for free.
