When riverrock posted the beautiful chair and table it reminded me of furniture that I photographed while I was in China. I have so many photos that I am going to break it into sections and post one every few days or a week or a month. I do not want to commit myself to anything too structured. lol I am starting with chairs or sitting devices. I use the term sitting devices because I do not know if some of them would be considered a chair or torture device. One thing that they definitely are is interesting. Now we need to get a grass mat to put on here to make it nice and comfortable. You did a great job on this dad. When my kids finish the rest of the set maybe their kids can sell them in Americur I am not tall enough to sit in this chair. What else have you got. HONEY, WILL YOU COME AND HELP ME MOVE THE COUCH? Aahhhhh now this is what I call relaxing. Honey will you bring me a beer? Great, now I can just sit on this old thing and do my work. HELP HELP MY FOOT IS STUCK IN THE CHAIR! Honey, the downstairs neighbors now have our couch. Will you call someone to come and fix the hole in the floor? I will try to keep these short but it will not be easy to get them finished before I run out of life. lol Next installment will be tea tables and chairs to die for. I really wanted to bring one of them home. Jim

You got some expensive stuff there Jim. Some of them cost an arm and a leg.

How neat!!! But other than for outdoor furniture, I think big cushiony sofas are better:P

Funny that you have posted this. I am also into antiques and the hottest thing right now is asian. Especially old Chinese porcelains. Breaking records every auction. Crazy money for some of the furniture as well Stu

I was joking Helen. Those people can be comfortable sitting or laying on a rock and for the life of me I can not figure out why.
The wood and rock sofa must weigh a ton but somehow they manage to move stuff like that into an apartment. In a lot of ways rocks are a status symbol there. The bigger the rock (or rocks) that they have the more important they think they are. My friend there told me that people will take out a loan to buy a stone or a carving just like we do when buying a car. Jim

Yea gr, a rock that big probably weighs more than a small car. Knowing the Chinese I doubt that they removed any of the inside rock to make it lighter either. What you see is one solid hunk of rock. Way more rock than anyone here would mess with without a sledge hammer. lol Jim

Wow, those are all cool. I would like to have a chair made from a giant thunderegg, or maybe a throne from a huge amethyst cathedral. . .
