I got a one pound chunk of Morrisonite online. It wasn't faced and is irregularly shaped with very little matrix.
Is there a grain in Morrisonite or can it be cut in any direction? I was planning on cutting the matrix of on two sides and see what shows up. There are five faces. The most exposed face is irregular and I am reluctant to cut there because of wasting material.
Suggestions welcome.

Study it for a bit, it will let you know how it wants to be cut.

I usually try to see what side has the best pattern(wet), take a slice and with it faced, if I don't like the pattern, I turn it 90 degrees and try again. Good Morrisionite is hard to cut wrong, it's all good.
