Once I get a hankerin to do a wrap- nothing gets in my way. I don't how I found the time, but I did it. This is a design I worked out a long time ago and haven't done another one in almost as long. I wrote a popular tute for this and have only wrapped small stones with it. This is a really big stone and I used 16g wire. I like how much more distinct the wire swag is on the bottom with the 16g. That's beautiful! Really like the design around the bottom of the pendant. Is it bloodstone or obsidian?

Thanks all! Believe it or not, I was a little intimidated by all that 16g but it worked up quickly and easily. I love the heavier look on this size stone.
Ginger- Hub is right, it is a bloodstone but it is so incredibly shiny it's easy to mistake. The picture is full of reflections. It's a beautiful stone and even has a tiny bit of hematite in the dead center. This is the second bloodstone I've cabbed. I love working it. The results are so beautiful.

Thanks! That's a great complement. I used to not like copper much myself, but I'm a believer now. Of course, some stones scream for silver over copper.

Wow, you were already a pro at wire wrapping, but now you're definitely a pro a cabbing too, beautiful pendant!! You picked up the cabbing part of this in a really short amount of time. Keep on posting, we all love seeing your work

Thank you Randy and Amy Randy, I'm not as confident in my cabbing as my wrapping- I feel I have a ways to go, a long ways. But, thanks all the same. It helps to know I'm on the right track.

Beautiful piece. I like the copper wire with it, looks more earthy.
