Howdy, dedicated cabbers! WHEW!!! Well, it's been awhile since I worked our best Bjue G. With mining, pressure washing, slabbing and other happy tasks, cabbing can get stuffed to the bottom of the stack. Add in the horrid Summer head cold I've been enduring and all of the website revisions and ... Well, y'all get the drift! So, going back a few weeks, here are some pretties in progress! Here's a "Delft" Blue G, the same top grade material that wompidy uses for rings ...These are all roughly 2" long, and finished through worn 600 grit SiC. They're starting to attain a soft polish, just past "velvet." A "Black & Blue" G triangle, destined for a pendant ...From here, we'll take them and take care of remaining rough edges, sand to 50,000 and polish with AO/cerium paste on carpet. And another pretty "delft" Blue G!These were quick and fun, as Blue G always is for me! Nothing like cutting what you mine! Thanks for watching! Best regards, Kris Hand-2-Mouth Mining www.hand2mouthmining.net

Great cabs Kris and I hope you saw the thankyou I left when mine got here. I am debating going with the shape of the nodule you sent me but there will be a lot of waste and I hate to do it so I think it is going to get slabbed Lloyd

Beautiful cabs! My dang monitor will not handle blue or purple well though. Comes out pretty much black and white. I have seen the beautiful robin's egg blue in some of the blue G before though and it's fantastic looking material....Mel

Beautiful cabs, but I have to say the stage was stolen by that beautiful rock you were using as a support. What is it?

So what does your carpet polishing pad look like? Wool carpet I assume? I have heard of soaking jade in vinegar before the cerium wheel to get a better polish, tried that?

Beautiful cabs, but I have to say the stage was stolen by that beautiful rock you were using as a support. What is it? Adrian Ahhhhh ... There's the rub ... What is it??? Well, this stone was collected from Little Panoche Creek, west of Firebaugh, CA. It looks like petrified wood, but is actually a deep subduction sedimentary jasp-agate. As the formation was drawn below the edge of the Coninental shelf, it was folded, spindles and mutilated, held at tremendous pressures and constant temperature for untold thousands of years, then catastrophically thrust toward the surface! (Ooooooooo ... Drama!) :cheesy: And it now resides in my Honey-pie's collection, meaning it's not going to be cut anytime soon. Which is okay, it's too cool a conversation piece to cut, anyway. (Guys, you know how it went ... "So, what did you bring me today???" "Huh???" "You know I get first dibs on the best rocks ..." At which point we sigh and say... "Yes, my pet.") At least it's safe and sound ... And she loves it! ;D Kris

Good thing you won't cut it. I was thinking about jasp-agate, I had a slab resembling a bit your specimen and it was a jasper with a Mexican name, don't remember it.
