Woah, that's a sparkler, Sue!! Congratulations!! An awesome achievement!! I've read that the judging of faceted gems is quite strict. Saw your stone in the Lapidary section on Gemology Online first. Used to participate on the forum. I love faceted gemstones and collect them (especially garnets) like a crazy person.

Amazing stone and photo. I too have thought about learning faceting. Would be perfect for the winter months while my messy equipment is outside hibernating.

Updated photo: One of the members of the USFG (faceting guild) volunteers to take pictures of competition stones. So, I carefully wrapped my baby up, sent it to CA, and this is what I got back! I saw that stone before. The photographer linked to it in a email group. I had no idea this thread was the same stone. That is truly gorgeous. The facets are so sharp the edges look like they could cut you. Wow!!! Is the light square on the table frosted or a reflection of the light source?? Dang, you are good!!

Is the light square on the table frosted or a reflection of the light source?? No frosting on this one. I have got to get back to my rocks and stones! Work has tied me up for three months and I haven't cut a thing! I hope my cab machine doesn't rust over!!!! Thanks for all the compliments. Sue
