Several months ago I posted pics of a pond I made to help the abundance of baby toads I had in my garden take a dip and cool off in the summer.Well, they have grown and seem to be enjoying their nights out by the pool.I hung a shop lamp above it for the first time to get some pics. They didnt want to take a group shot so these are what I have. A few let me get a closeup. Some chose to hide between rocks. A couple on the other end.I counted 11 last night and again tonight What a wild Friday night!!! snuffy

Snuffy, I missed your first post and love both the idea and the result. Perhaps I can make my toads a little happier as well!

Wow Snuffy, that is super cool! We have a few toads and leopard frogs around but haven't tried a pond as yet as we have too many raccoons and they'd just get into it and trash it in no time. The folks who do have small ponds have to wire over them like we did back in California so it makes them kind of unsightly. Yours sure looks cool with all the pretty pet wood around it.....Mel

Awwwww. We used to have all kinds of Gulf Coast Toads in our yard but the population seems to have collapsed. :-( Cool idea for a pond...but I think the Egrets would visit and eat the toads if I tried it. They did it in days gone by.

i had a buncha diff kinda lizards in and around my garden when i moved here but the neighbors dam cat must have ate them all they leave him out all the time and he is always droppin dead bird bodies around my RV so i fig that's where all my lizard friends went -- i try and leave a puddle for them when i water the little garden so they can get a drink but i know if i did something like that the cat would get the rest of them wile they where drinking and lounging by the pool haha

Great pond and a multitude of toads Snuff!
We have a pond but can't keep any critters because of the coons. Even a snake got in there and ate all the fish one time.
