Howdy folks,
As you now, it's hot in south Texas and as a result, we have some of the laziest squirrels I've ever seen. These Edwards Plateau Fox Squirrels seek out every piece of shade and try to stay cool and conserve energy as much as possible. Anyway, here's a pic my wife took of one of our backyard population. He swiped a seed head off one of our sunflower plants and then was too freaking lazy to even sit up and eat. Instead he lays on his belly in the cool grass under a tree and enjoys his lunch.
