Hi everyone! I'm new to tumbling and rocks in general. I have always been fascinated with all the variety but never hunkered down and learned about them. Always wanted to tumble so when Harbor Freight had a 20% coupon I jumped and got the 3lb tumbler for 27 bucks.
So, this weekend I should be heading to the beaches to start collecting and see what happens!

Welcome from Virginia. I don't tumble yet, but the tumbling section here is very impressive and makes me want to. Have fun! I spent the best years of my life (my childhood) in RI, BTW.

Another welcome from California. It was the tumbling information that got me here in the first place - everything you'll need to know about tumbling! Jean

Welcome from Colorado. I spent a few weeks in RI this summer. My brother and his family live in Narragansett.
I hate to start with bad news, but the hf stuff is pretty sketchy.
You could probably create some nice "sea glass" at home with it though.
The best stuff i saw at the beach that might tumble was smoky quartz.
Take pics, ask questions.
