lol Helen, I asked you for the link to the ridiculous chart you posted that you said you got straight off the treasury site while saying our information was coming from tabloids. That is where you got your chart, a Lib website, or moveon.org's facebook page. As I pointed out in the Washington Post fact check in which the chart received 4 Four Pinocchios, The person who posted this on Facebook noted: “From the US Treasury Dept — any questions?” But it actually is not a Treasury Department calculation, just manipulated data taken from the Treasury Web site. But this chart, originally created by the office of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, is as phony as a three-dollar bill. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/a-bogus-chart-on-obama-and-the-debt-gets-a-new-lease-on-life/2011/09/28/gIQAx40Y6K_blog.htmlUmmm Helen? Is this true? Moveon.org's Facebook page? ROFLMAO Seriously Helen, how do you expect anyone to believe you when you say all these things? Curt That was my 1 minute response after getting home late from er... Florida style 'rockhounding' yesterday. I just pillaged that particular pix from Facebook out of laziness:). Numbers are still roughly correct, as I noted in the Treasury Dept links and analysis by Adelphi University that I looked up today, albeit I will admit it's confusing. Thus the much better and more accurate charts later:). Do you just SKIP my posts Curt? Maybe I should skip yours too? You can't debate if you don't read the rebuttals you know:).

I read what I can when I can. And yes, your post are so long and so many that I do skim over some of them.
Now I know it's hard for a Liberal but let's try some common sense. Obama has spent $5 trillion dollars in 4 years. We haven't even had a budget in what, 3 or 4 years? Give a Liberal a blank check and 5 trillion is what you get.
We simply cannot afford 4 more years of Obama. Period, end of story.

You ever watch Hitler's speeches? I have. He ranted like a complete looney, spittle flying. Obama's speeches are so calm and rational, he sounds like the Harvard Professor he actually is. Not a guy who just got out of jail like Hitler did. And I removed my Hitler post, because it was off-topic. But if we're going to talk about Hitler anyway, I'll put it back. WHO is the SOCIALIST party? Hitler represented the National SOCIALIST PARTY after all: History: "On May 2nd, 1933, the day after Labor day, Nazi groups occupied union halls and labor leaders were arrested. Trade Unions were outlawed by Adolf Hitler, while collective bargaining and the right to strike was abolished. This was the beginning of a consolidation of power by the fascist regime which systematically wiped out all opposition groups, starting with unions, liberals, socialists, and communists using Himmler’s state police."

The elderly who will lose their benefits, the poor who will lose their medicare and assistance, those who will be made unemployed by Romney after he reduces Unemployment, or the children who will starve with no food stamps? Obama has zero plans to increase taxes for those making UNDER $200K a year. Who is 'WE"? YOU make over $200K a year? Because under Romney if you do not, your taxes are going UP. WHO can't we afford? The poor on welfare or the Corporations on welfare?

Helen, First off I was a local civil servant with my services funded by the growers and ranchers that used them, not some Fed scumbag. I dealt with a few of them and they were usually not helpful, just government bureaucrats that got in the way of effective work. Secondly, much as I respect "good" teachers, the ranks could stand to be thinned of the dead wood which is there because of the strength of teachers unions. Teaching, like everything else should be a meritocracy and ineffective teachers should be removed and replaced with effective ones. And good lord there are a ton of government workers that could be dumped with only positive effect ie: Obama, Holder, Napolitono, Geithner all of internal revenue etc etc *L*.....Mel
PS: government grants for college huh? My wife and I were poor and smart and worked our way through college with a little help from our folks thrown in. Of course we're white. Had we been more ethnic we might have gotten freebies too. My folks offered me braces or a start in college. My sister took the braces and I took the $1000 for college *L*

You and Obama want to throw my grandchildren under the bus for freebies to people who don't want to work. I have no doubt that a lot of freebies would end under Romney. That is a good thing. Go to freaking work and do it yourselves. As far as those that cannot go to work, Romney has given more to charity than Obama and Biden put together. I haven't looked but I would think you could throw in Pelosi and Reid as well. And there you go again. I doubt very seriously my grandchildren will be uneducated unless Obama is elected again and he completely crashes our economy instead of partially crashing it as he has done so far. Curt

WHO wants freebies for people who don't want to work? NO ONE. The work for welfare program is still in place. The Republicans actually complained that Obama was going to give States block welfare grants to reduce paperwork to save Federal money, WITH the condition that they produce 20% MORE people getting work in return. And Romney called that 'eliminating' work requirements for welfare. The lying is so rampant in the Republican party that I can see why you'd be confused by the truth. ROMNEY has given more to CHARITY? Say what? Bill Gates gave 38 BILLION to charity and asks to be taxed more. Romney's charity amounts to 10% tithing to his non-christian faith, while he cheated so badly on his income tax that he CANNOT release more than the last 2 years (as he got ready for his Presidential run). WHAT charity are you referring to? LOL! Seriously?

Or are they just planning to fire teachers:)? Because any day of the week, any company or gov't agency can fire ineffective employees to replace them with effective employees. You worked your way through college how many years ago? $1000 for college probably amounted to a year or 2's tuition. Today, that's not even 1 class in a state University. Actually, that may be 1/2 of 1 class tuition. 1/2 of the tuition for a state University is probably pushing $20,000. So if a parent can't give each child $20,000 in TODAY's dollars, they can't go, and you think that's a good thing?

Two questions about Bernie, Helen. Why did he not act on his concerns when the dems had control of both houses? Will he use his charitable donations from the profits of his book, to lower his income tax? Champions of the Poor: Stewart, Maher, Barr, Olbermann, Maddow, Sanders, Schultz, Penn. Combined net worth: $1.2 Billion. #ows #p2 Senator Bernie Sanders net worth $750M. One of richest in Congress. #ows #p2 cryptome.org/0005/net-worth-galt.htm(VIDEO) POSTED BY SHAY TOTTEN ON MAY 19, 2011 AT 12:39 PM IN CURRENT AFFAIRS, MEDIA, NEWS, POLITICS, VERMONT, VIDEO | PERMALINK Is U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), a self-described socialist, really a closet capitalist? That's the conclusion of Jason Mattera, editor of the national conservative magazine Human Events, in an amusing 90-second video posted this morning. (see the full video below) Mattera confronted Sanders at a Washington, D.C. Barnes & Noble during a signing event for the senator's new book, The Speech: A Historic Filibuster on Corporate Greed and the Decline of Our Middle Class. First, a socialist sells a book in the free market and then signs copies at a corporate chain store. Can one cram more ironies into one event? Maybe Sanders was drinking corporate bottled water, too? "How does an avowed socialist go about selling a book?" Mattera asks glibly, looking into a video camera as he walks down a sunny D.C. sidewalk on his to meet his quarry. "We're going to find out." Mattera asks Sanders bluntly if he'd dedicate his copy of the book to "Capitalism: The greatest economic system on earth." At first, Sanders said, "No I won't." Sanders then explains that he normally signs people's names into books, not concepts. After some prodding from Mattera, though, Sanders agrees to dedicate this one copy to capitalism. Mattera asked Sanders, "How does an avowed socialist go about selling a book? Are you donating all of your profits to the federal government?" "No," replies Sanders. "To the children of Vermont." According to the inscription in Sanders' book, which is a text version of the eight-hour faux filibuster he delivered on the Senate floor last year, Sanders intends to donate all of his proceeds to "charitable, non-profit organizations in the state of Vermont — mostly related to the needs of children." Mattera notes that Sanders hasn't yet named those organizations. Not true. A Sanders spokesman tells Seven Days that the senator will donate the proceeds from his book to the Addison County Parent/Child Center, which will distribute the funds around the state. Human Events also wonders if Sanders will itemize those donations on next year's federal tax return. "If Sanders follows through on his pledge, there’s no word on whether or not the Senate’s only (admitted) socialist will use the 'donations' to lower his taxable income for 2011," Mattera writes on the mag's website.

If you know ANYTHING about politics, you know that not all people in the SAME PARTY agree or have the same agenda. Lets compare REPUBLICAN Ron Paul to REPUBLICAN David Duke to REPUBLICAN Ronald Reagan to REPUBLICAN George Bush, OK? Tell me, how many things would they agree with? Tell me, would David Duke as President of the USA have hired Condoleeza Rice as his Secretary of State? Or Colin Powell? Would Ron Paul have done what Ronald Reagan have had a military arms race to beat the USSR? You think the Democratic Party is different? You have a whole slew of liberals who hate Obama and will not vote because he is a moderate who 'betrayed' the liberal cause. 2 years of a Democratic Congress means they bicker among themselves, no differently than Republicans do, because each party has its own 'right' and 'left'. Sanders is a humanitarian humanist. Socialists abolish labor unions, because they do not want people having collective bargaining powers AT ALL. This is what a socialist does: The German National Socialist Party, aka Nazi party wanted to destroy all labor unions. The United Soviet Socialist Republic, aka USSR, dissolved all labor Unions. Which party in the USA wants to destroy labor Unions? The Dems? Who's Socialist in the USA? The Republicans, if you read the Hitler and Stalin models. Wealth for themselves and their cronies (today, they are corporate party members, back then, just wealthy individual Nazi supporters), low wages, hunger and crime and punishment for everyone else. Sanders likes labor unions, but more importantly, he cares about the PEOPLE in this country. Not just one group of people, the rich, but all the people. In your case, Billy, since you own your own oil drilling company, you make over $200K a year, so I guess you relate to the Republicans, and I would expect you to. The amazing part is how any working person possibly can.

Wait... you think Bernie Sanders is worth what Mitt Romney is worth? $750 million:)? LMAO THIS is what Bernie Sanders ENTIRE NET WORTH IS for the 2010 period... LESS than $1 million dollars. Clearly he walks the walk as he talks the talk, because he was NOT subject to the insider trading rules, and could have enriched himself like Paul Ryan has as a lifelong politician. That's what principles do for a man... poor but proud: www.opensecrets.org/pfds/CIDsummary.php?CID=N00000528&year=2010

*L* Helen, No a thousand dollars didn't go that far even back then in the stone age. I was so clumsy in chem lab that my glassware bill would have consumed a lot of that money. I got married in college and we both worked jobs while attending. At one point we had seven part time jobs between us plus working all summer and the holidays every year since I was a junior in high school. Yeah costs are higher now but so are wages. Most my summer jobs paid $1.25 per hour. Think kids can make more than that now. And you know what? I think not buying stuff you can't pay for is a good thing. Wish the fraking government would learn that concept! If you can't afford college without the taxpayers footing the bill, then work before college to earn the money, join the military and get GI bill or fraking don't go to college, just go to work. We need mechanics, plumbers and electricians too.
I'm so sick of this instant gratification generation who thinks everyone gets everything they want right now and for free. Kids today expect to become six figure executives right out of high school, have their first car be a Beemer and a huge flat screen TV in every room of their mini mansion all of which they want on credit or for free from the taxpayers. Scr*w'em. Let them get a job and work for what they want. I lived in a tiny $115 a month apartment, rode a Honda scooter for my first two years of college and a piece of crap Simca that ran on three cylinders after that. Didn't buy our first home till we could afford it and my fist TV was a piece of junk hand me down black and white from my folks. Foodwise, I worked part time for a dive shop and ate so much freaking fish that to this day I can't stand it. And you, Helen, just feel so sorry for the pathetic little buggers that you think folks like me should give our money to them so that can have all their goodies for free. This, in a nutshell, is exactly what's wrong with you gulldanged left wingnut commie/socialist libs and why I hope Obama will not get re elected......Mel
