:help: This was sold to me as Picasso Marble. Any one have any suggestions on polishing? I'm a agate and jasper experienced the easy stuff. Not sure what to do with this soft of materisal. I tried to tumble some but it did not take a polish very well, sort of dull. Mike

it will cab better than tumble.
you may only get a high satin shine. select an interesting pattern. the "good" cab here will result from composition and design of the shape and layout.
these slabs seem to have plenty of opportunity. it is a hard marble, and should polish at least as well as serpentine or epidote and some onyx.

hand sand at 600 - 1200 grit to eliminate flat spots. The black takes a higher shine than the brown. polishes better with metal polish such as zam and fabuluster.

Definitely Picasso. You won't get the shine that you'd get from polishing an agate, you'll get a semi-gloss finish at best. but still pretty stuff!

I do have a small piece of the black stuff also. Kind of a spider web marble. Very dark compared to these two.

I collected there many years ago. Grey with black was the most common. Hard to find with tans as well. Sand as fine as you can and try the Zam or really fine aluminum oxide.
