Found these this past weekend near the Asbestos mines near Globe,Az. Trying to figure out if it is Chalcedony or a nephrite jade. Slabs from a different piece. Thanks for your help. Tim

hard to tell without seing the type of breakage but quartz will fracture like glass so leans heavily towards not being nephrite

Thanks. :-) It definitely has razor sharp edges where we broke it up with the hammer. Someone on the trip was suggesting that it was a Prase Agate, could not find any pic's on the Net that was from the US, so I figured it was something else.

yeah that first pic suggest something in the Chalcedony family (agate, jasper etc.) - pretty color though!
