As far as I know all pseudomorphs are replacements of something else. Like the agatized barite common in Utah (agate pseudomorph after barite). Was barite, replaced by agate. Now it is agate with barite markings and exterior xcrystal shapes. Maybe he figures the crazy lace replaced the silica sand and minerals but that is a stretch.

Exactly, a pseudomorph of what? Anything to spur interest, I guess. Jean

I winked guys. I was making a joke. It's like finding a new kind of agate, very rare, but then you find where there are a lot more, and it isn't rare anymore. It's a figurative pseudomorph, not a literal one. Or else the guy is full of BS and shouldn't be trusted. I guess it could be that.

Well, somebody snatched it up for the low price of $20, plus $10 shipping. Could it have been a fellow RTH'er? Saw that there is a yellow cat "pseudomorph" agate for sale on eBay(different seller, but also has 100% positive feedback), only $69, shipping a more reasonable $3.50! He also has other less expensive ones. At least this seller goes into detail about why it's being called that (agate pseudomorph after barite). Jean
Edit to add - Oh my, I had not checked out the rest of the things he has for sale, nice eye candy!!! Don't go looking unless you have money to spend, or great willpower to resist - lol!

I bought it to see how much of a scammer this person is well it appears that the colors are somehow enhanced in their photos or are of another batch of cherry picked stones from the lot this is what I got I expected it to be shipped priority mail small flat rate but instead got a first class bubble bag the rocks were in a tin they are big enough to cab but no where is the color the same as their photos I can get my $$ back as I can fight it through paypal but I also can cab out the larger stones and make pendants to sell and get my investment + back

Hmm.looks like some other than positive feedback may be in order. They're cool but man, not at all as advertised.

they did not get a positive from me the stones are nice but just not as they presented them and they have a bunch more "rare" stuff up with high starting amounts to me they would get more $$ if they slabbed the big piece up instead of making mincemeat out of it this is a picture they sent me because I challenged them about what they were calling it

I don't cab, so $30 a pound for tumbling agate would have been too pricey for me. I like the yellow in that last pic.

I noticed the neutral feedback you left, but they still have 100% I thought neutral feedback dinged the rating as well.

I think it does but not in the same way a neg does
did not want to give them a neg as I did get the stones but they were not as presented and they way over charged on shipping I expect a seller to include a small handling fee with the shipping but over $5.00 is a bit much

Off topic, but I've seen people selling the agatized barites as dino bone. Some of the weathered exteriors do look a little similar. Some dealers are ignorant (or dishonest).

if it smells fishy, it often is.
What you got is only worth a few dollars - if that.
I have always heard that crazy lace was a psuedomorph (silica after dogtooth calcite). I thought at 1st this was crazy lace, but now see it is some other agate that looks like it has small crystal clusters (but looking more like quartz than calcite) that are replaced with silica/agate. I see several little clumps that appear t be giving the finger. Ironic, everything considered.
Sorry you got ripped. I would get it refunded through PayPal, and file a claim of outrageous handling fee with ebay.

did the claim already I'm not too worried about the $$ as I can get my $$ back in jewelry sales of the pieces
