I know that Noreena can be hit-or-miss in the vibe. I have several small preforms I put in the vibe Monday night and I pulled them out to clean and recharge tonight. They are holding up surprisingly well! One has a "crack" forming along a seam, and I am wondering if I can put superglue in the crack and put it back in the vibe. I'd love to see if I can get this piece to polish, just wondering what folks thought.

thats a big crack. may need gap filling kind.
you have to buff it smooth too, or the thin layer on each side will water log, fog, and lift up

I have had good luck with mending cracks using epoxy 330 and putting in vibe. Just be sure to clean well with acetone for a good bond before dripping glue into cracks. It dries water clear.

hmm, now I'm wondering if a clear seam would just look strange in Noreena... maybe I just leave it alone and wrap it with a matte finish.

Has anyone ever tried mixing rock dust into the epoxy to make rock putty? I doubt you'd be able to match the color, but it might be a way to make the crack look natural at least.

The original seam was black at the point it eroded out there. Anything black that would do?

If this cab were mine I would cut or break it at that crack and reshape it. I think filling it with clear epoxy would make it look artificial and "mended"! The crack is just too big,,,in my opinion.
I've tried mixing epoxy and rock dust and had "so-so" results.I found that my best results came when I mixed VERY small batches,,,,just a tad more then needed.Bigger batches led to an air bubble problem and also running out of time in order to get a good mixture and use the epoxy before it got too stiff to use.

I agree with Connrock, make a nice clean cut there just inside that crack and throw it back. Noreena does have soft areas that can do that. Just takes a little tweaking. Jo

Good point about the bubbles. It's already a pain just trying to mix the resin and hardener without getting air in it.

I'll third connrock's suggestion - break it where it snaps at (or recut) and reshape it. Jean
