I saw a magnificent piece of burro creek purple chalcedony/agate last night. With so many members in Aridzona I am hoping to scare up a big hunk for sphere making. That color is just yummy. Looks like this: www.sticks-in-stones.com/new/burro5.jpgPM me if you can help out! Send me a MFRB and I'll send back a sphere!

I have a small thick slab of this material, and even a few dendrites added in. I have the heel somewhere but it would provide for a marble - not a sphere.
But it does occur in larger pieces, so you may get lucky. I know Catmandew carried some fairly large pieces, some with pale lavender, from Burro Creek in 2007. Also, Jamie knows that area very well.

Thanks Daniel, let's see what I can scare up. I'll PM Tony.

There is a tremendous amount still out there. Just ripe for the picking! How big of a piece do you need? I have a few chunks that I brought back for the rock shop. Sheri

Good luck finding a large piece of the dark purple, it is getting very hard to find out there since the mine shut down the prime locations. If Sheri has some I would definitely take her up on her offer, I know that I am not parting with the material I have. :-)
