Thought I`d ask the pros here a question. I want to switch to diamond grinding wheels on my cabber. I need a low budget wheel without replacing it often if possible. I find some on E-Bay for about $70 from BUTW at 1" wide and a Covington 1 1/2" wheel for $130. I looked on Rockshed website and didn`t find any listed. I appreciate any advice you may wish to share.

I have had bad experiences with BUTW and don't do business with them anymore. I have bought from eBay sellers; Jadecarver and Rocklady1, and have always been happy with my purchases from them. I bought a 60 grit diamond wheel from Jadecarver that was awesome. A very good deal for the price.

Although my experince with BUTW was not with a diamond wheel but another item it was such that I will not do any more business with then anymore either.

Ditto jadecarver for the hard wheels...don't have any soft ones but John at jsgems has always made good deals for folks on the board.

Avoid BUTW at all costs. Years ago I bought a lap from them that was either contaminated or defective. They refused to provide any type of replacement or warranty. Why? Because I actually used the lap. Somehow I was supposed to know that it put scratches in the stones before using it. Now I place every new lap under my pillow and wait for the Tooth Fairey to tell me they're fine.

richontools.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_31&sort=20a&page=2I've had good luck with these 1 1/2's. Around 60 bucks with shipping, for a low cost wheel. Nearly three years on them and they are still going strong. If you buy more than 100 bucks worth ask Peter about a discount. Of course, Ed tells me I don't cut enough cabs, so your mileage may vary I just got a 16 inch blade from them recently that is great, for about 60 including shipping. T

Now I place every new lap under my pillow and wait for the Tooth Fairey to tell me they're fine. I'll have to try this trick ! sleeping with a grinding wheel under my pillow maybe a polish stone will show up Ed
