After I saw riverbend's red palm (not really a palm) cabs, I wanted to have a slab, so I got this one on ebay. Mel educated us to the fact it is not a true palm, but still nice needles. I think the needle-like structure will show up even better when I dome across the needles. I usually do not think about high domes, but here it could be very effective some closer look. the light area is in the slab, not a flash. ... and here is a rock I cut up the last few weeks. Got it when I lived in Oregon from Bruce at rocksj2b2, but I don't know where it comes from. there are small vugs, and mixed hardness. I think some epoxy-acetone treatment would be good. But, one of my tastes is for bold pattern, and this is bold I gave a slab to a friend in Kansas City, and sent one to Donnie. I will set these aside for treatment, but maybe Donnie will show us what an cab from untreated stone looks like.

Both of those specimens are just Awesome. I hope Donnie does show us a cab of that material!
