I have posted some of these before over the years, but I have been trying to sort slabs and get a rough catalog, and I thought I would post some pics of some (but not all) of my long time favorites A Biggs (or Deschutes) picture jasper I got from Judy Elkins. One view wet and the other dry: A nice solid piece of Koi Jasper that shows somewhat atypical bold blue pattern elements. (The red is fairly typical) (dry) (wet) the bolo cut with the blue stripe and the red dot is a real favorite. I am going to move this to the front of my trim list. ... and an unusual hidden valley picture jasper that I have had for over ten years. First view dry, second wet. Do you see what I see? (Hint: my name for the tile is the same a a popular tv mini series from a few years back) a nice large tick solid imperial jasper. the colors are very rich but not too dark. I am not sure I can cut this one. Finally, a breccia I really like. Black backgrounds are one of my likes. I think this is a tabu-tabu jasper out of Africa, but the pieces are smaller than other rough I have seen. The lighter halo around the red pieces is very tabu-tabu jasper like however. I just know I like it. I think the bolo with the healed fracture/vein through it is my preference, but in truth my favorite is the most recent one I look at (dry, then wet)

Beautiful! They'd go to the top of anybody's list of favorites.

Some really nice slabs. I would not cut the Imperial.

I think cutting the imperial is unlikely. I have a 2lb'ish piece with lighter but still excellent pattern that I will be cutting soon. I will take a pic today while I am making other photos.

here is a verified tabu-tabu jasper. there is no black matrix for the breccia, but the light pink halo around the red bits is very similar to what is in the pic above.

and here is a fairly thick slab of ocean jasper. somewhat atypical with the large splashes of pastel color. some hallmark green orbs on the right however.

Those are crazy Daniel, but that top Biggs... WOWW!!!!
When I get specimens that are keepers and they have those drawn lines on them, that's the first thing I do... grind em off:P. I know some people like cabs, but as a NEW rock person with no clue what a cab even was before liking rocks.
Actually...(don't beat me up, I know better now!!) I thought cabs were what you did with inferior slabs because they had no collector value (I think I got this idea from Ebay because of the plethora of cheap cabs, and the relative scarcity of great slabs).

They are all incredible. The Biggs is so dramatic, and the colors in the others, well, I wouldn't have the nerve to cut any of them.
