Back in 1962 my Granny Smith came to Montana to visit us.She bought a picture frame made of agates, with a pic of JFK in the frame..... I thought is was the coolest frame I ever saw! I told Granny so too! Years down the road,I joined the Army(1973) and I came home from leave for xmas, she died in the hospital from cancer. Than years went by again and Grandpa remarried and moved to Florida. As they were packing the goods up,he came across a little box full of agates(from the pic frame,it broke several years before).. In the box was my name on paper.Granny remembered I liked the agates as a kid. Grandpa gave me the box and the agates.......I'm hoping I can pass these down to one of my kids or grandkids too, with the story that goes with them!

What a beautiful story. It's really how family is so important to hold close and hold on to those memory. Reading this post I think of my sister I want to hold closer to my heat again. Thank you, I'm going to call her tomorrow.

What a nice story to go with those agates. Its neat when we can look at a special rock and remember the story that goes with it.

Those rocks are very special. Are you going to put the picture frame back together so you can pass it on as it was before? Thanks for sharing. Steve
