The first one is fire mountain? Very nice! I really like the mushroom, as well!

First I've heard of fire mountain, nice looking stuff! Where's it from?

It is from china, and is small thundereggs in jasper. like rainforest, but the eggs do not have agate in them. the jasper appears a little softer too.

I know your eye for first grade rocks, but this time you exceeded my expectations.

I'm impressed how similar the two materials look. I thought for sure that they where from the same deposit.

First I've heard of fire mountain, and I also think both types look a lot alike. At first, I thought you had drawn the red lines preparatory to cutting. What an eye catching group!

The fire mountain was a purchase form rockman69 at the Minneapolis show. I still have about 3-4 more slabs to cut. I have to say that on my monitor at work the colors look a bit over-saturated, but at home on my laptop, they looked almost a bit under-saturated. I do think these are nice slabs even if they only look exactly like this under bright 6500K lights. They still look OK (if a bit dustier) under regular household light too. I had seen the fire mountain on rm69 ebay auctions since last Jan, but the photos provided didn't compel me to buy - especially since it was a material I didn't know. For example these pics are form two of his Brian's completed auctions: I wondered if it was too gray-green and how solid the material was. But, at the show, this piece showed better color than other pieces he had there, and I could feel that it was pretty solid. Interestingly one piece he listed not too long ago had a large section of agate:

You have some of the most amazing slabs! I really love them both but the second group keeps me going back for another look! Beautiful! Fran
